Classic Bolognese pasta

  1. Finely chop the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery.
  2. Heat a frying pan with olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté until soft.
  3. Add the ground meat and sauté, breaking up any lumps with a spatula, until cooked through.
  4. Add the tomato paste and tomatoes in their juices, stir, and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes until the sauce is fully heated and thickened.
  5. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to package directions until tender.
  7. Drain and toss the pasta with the sauce. Serve hot with grated cheese and a sprinkling of fresh parsley.

Ready-to-eat classic Bolognese pasta pairs perfectly with Parmesan or Gruyere cheese, as well as a dry red wine.
