Appetizer with salmon

Share

What happens if you hide a Federici olive in puff pastry?

Answer: A little culinary firework of flavor that will brighten any evening! These crispy envelopes with a savory filling disappear from the table faster than you can say “aperitivo.” Tried and true!

Instructions

  1. Crush the garlic cloves. In a bowl, combine the Federici olives with the salmon, soy sauce, olive oil, vinegar, garlic, and spices. Gently mix and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Thaw and lightly roll out the puff pastry. Cut it into small squares (approximately 5×5 cm).
  3. Place a small amount of filling on each square.
  4. Pinch the opposite corners of the dough together over the filling, pinch the edges, forming a neat envelope or pouch.
  5. Place the pastry on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes, until beautifully golden.

Serve warm. It makes a wonderful stand-alone treat or a refined accompaniment with a glass of white wine or champagne.
